Vedauwoo is an area of extreme rock formations in the Medicine Bow National Forest near Laramie, Wyoming. The area is used for camping and picnicking and is a great favorite of rock climbers. The name Vedauwoo comes from an Arapaho Indian word meaning earthborn spirits. The photographs on this page were taken on April 5, 2001. The roads were all still closed because of snow, but the warm spring weather had melted much of it. The hazy clouds made this an extraordinary day for taking pictures.
The following pictures were taken on September 28, 2002. The autumn aspens made for a much more colorful area then the spring pictures.
